Joe joined Copaken Brooks in 2015 as an experienced construction manager with 23 years of multi-million dollar projects under his belt. He is responsible for construction management for tenant improvement work in commercial properties throughout the Kansas City metro area, as well as new development projects. His current development assignments include Corrigan Station, a 140,000 square foot mixed-use development involving the rehabilitation of a ten-story historic office building. Joe manages between 20 and 30 construction and tenant improvement projects a year.
Joe’s previous experience includes 17 years as director of construction for Helzberg Diamonds in Kansas City, where he was responsible for procuring all owner-furnished supplies and bidding projects. Joe has completed projects in most major malls throughout the country, and has managed budgets between $15 million and $30 million with great success.
Joe’s prior experience also includes management roles with Kmart Corporation. As regional facilities manager, he supervised four facilities managers in six states with a budget near $24 million. As project manager, he served as owner’s representative on development projects as well as construction manager on the corporation’s self-development projects. Projects included ground-up, remodels, face-lifts, expansions and capital improvements.
