Mark Thomas

Chief Property Management Officer

As Chief Property Management Officer at Copaken Brooks, Mark Thomas is responsible for the management of over 4 million square feet of office, retail, industrial, and condominium assets in Kansas, Missouri, and Texas. These responsibilities include: asset financial performance; capital planning; resolution of legal issues; managing overall tenant relationships; preservation of the physical asset; tenant construction and improvement processes; retail specialty leasing; and property sponsorship functions. Mark is also responsible for the procurement of third-party management contracts.

Mark began his career with Sprint/North Supply, working in the facilities management division. He later joined Griffin Services as a project manager where he was responsible for the engineering services and operations management of over one million square feet of General Services Administration (GSA) assets. Prior to joining Copaken Brooks, Mark was employed by Kessinger/Hunter and Company of Kansas City, responsible for managing the BMA Tower and consulting on new business opportunities as the AVP/Director of Operations.

Mark is a national instructor for the Building Owners and Managers Institute and holds the distinction of being a repeat presenter at the annual BOMA conference 2012 and 2013, where his topics have included Value Generation and Monetizing Assets.
