Solid and Stable Foundation
C-B is one of the oldest, family-founded real estate firms in Kansas City. Since 1922, we have developed in excess of 11 million square feet of retail and office space. Today we lease and manage over 5 million square feet of commercial real estate and have in excess of 2 million square feet in predevelopment phases and provide corporate services throughout all 50 states and Canada.
Proven Track Record
For many decades, clients have entrusted their real estate needs to C-B. During this time, C-B has demonstrated the ability to enhance and preserve asset values while generating superior returns for our clients. Due to C-B’s owner mentality for every asset we manage, we look at real estate investment from a long-term perspective and this perspective has proven successful in preserving and growing asset values.
Strong Community Partner
C-B has established valuable relationships as a major partner in civic and community endeavors in Greater Kansas City. We take pride in being able to contribute our time and skills to civic programs.
Developer of Signature Properties
C-B has developed some of the region’s most significant signature properties like the Town Pavilion and 1201 Walnut buildings in the central business district. In addition, C-B has developed several major malls over the years in Kansas, Missouri and Illinois, including the Nordstrom anchored Oak Park Mall, in Overland Park, Kansas, which continues to be the dominant regional mall in the Kansas City region.
Tenant and Landlord Representation
C-B is also actively involved in representing tenants and landlords. C-B currently represents owners of over 4 million square feet of space for leasing and management services and, in addition, represents numerous large and small individual tenants in leasing and sales assignments.
Strong Local Investor Relationships
C-B has a long history of partnering with strong local investors to develop and acquire real estate. In 2005 after monetizing its regional mall portfolio, C-B co-sponsored a real estate fund that acquired $188 million of Class A grocery anchored retail centers and Class A apartments. As our history indicates, C-B is constantly seeking new opportunities whereby we can partner with new clients in acquiring real estate.
Development and Historic Redevelopment
C-B’s history has generally focused on ground up development, and the future will be much the same. C-B currently has a mixed-use, new suburban city center project containing 2 million square feet in various stages of predevelopment in Lenexa, Kansas. In addition, we recently completed the renovation and redevelopment of an historic Crossroads District building utilizing Federal and State Tax Credits which achieved a “Gold” LEED Certification.
