Copaken Brooks’ own Town Pavilion and recently-sold property REVERB have been awarded Mid America Design Awards (MADA) for interior design.

The Mid America Design Awards (MADA) is a biennial event hosted by IIDA Mid-America that recognizes Interior Design work within the Kansas City and Wichita City Centers. Design firms throughout the Chapter submit projects from numerous market sectors and compete for outstanding recognition among their peers.

Those selected as award winners are honored for their exceptional quality of work in the interior design profession. Project judging is based upon innovation, functionality, and implementation of overall design intent and brand.

Town Pavilion, located in the heart of Downtown Kansas City, was awarded a Silver Award.

Originally opening in 1986 as a regional headquarters for AT&T, a civic mall and food court – the 34-story Town Pavilion skyscraper is now the city’s largest multitenant office building. Throughout 2020 and 2021, the building’s lobby and common areas received dramatic improvements creating a high-end modernized oasis designed around community and connectivity. Future-focused upgrades empowered the addition of a concierge center, retail storefront improvements, plus the installation of art-driven video walls providing an art experience alongside ArtsKC’s rotating art display. REVERB was awarded the Gold Award (Property sold in late 2022) 

Copaken Brooks, CP Real Estate Capital and Burns & McDonnell partnered to design and build REVERB, a distinctive apartment building at 18th and Walnut in the Crossroads Arts District in downtown Kansas City, Mo.

Completed in August 2020, REVERB is a 14-story apartment building containing 132 units located atop a two-story, above-ground parking garage. An additional 2,000 square feet of retail/other commercial space is located on the ground level of REVERB, including space for food trucks outside and a sidewalk park. Perched above the apartment units is a private outdoor terrace and lounge with a public, rooftop bar – Mercury Room.
