Pitch Lenexa Unveils Plans for Fan Events during World Cup 2026
Lenexa, KS – Pitch Lenexa, a dynamic coalition of local businesses and stakeholders, is excited to announce its plans to host a series of world-class events in Lenexa during the 2026 World Cup. This initiative aims to showcase Lenexa as a vibrant, welcoming, and dynamic city by hosting world-class events and activities that celebrate the spirit of the 2026 World Cup and enhance community engagement.
Through a strategic partnership, Pitch Lenexa is the first community sponsor of KC2026.
“The businesses that came together to create Pitch Lenexa are forward-thinking and ambitious and exactly what the region needs to make the 2026 World Cup a success. The Lenexa business community is collaborative – so I am not surprised they have created this group to ensure Lenexa, and the region, are showcased to the world as vibrant and welcoming,” said Kansas State Senator and KC2026 Board Member Dinah Sykes.
The group is comprised of nine founding members – AdventHealth Lenexa City Center, the City of Lenexa, Copaken Brooks & the Master Association Members in Lenexa City Center, Henderson Companies, Hinkle Law Firm LLC, Lakeview Village, Nabholz Construction, Standard Beverage, and Quest Diagnostics.
“Lenexa continues to be the epicenter of economic development on the Kansas side of the Kansas City Metropolitan Area,” said Pitch Lenexa organizer Mark McFarland of Hinkle Law Firm. “The goal is to showcase that to the region and the rest of the world.”
Lenexa Mayor Julie Sayers expressed enthusiastic support about the establishment of the first-of-its-kind coalition by a forward-thinking group of Lenexa businesses. “Thanks to their vision, Lenexa business leaders are ensuring that our community will play a crucial role in this historic event for the metropolitan area. As the world tunes in for the World Cup, Lenexa City Center will be an ideal place to gather and celebrate. This coalition not only highlights the innovative spirit of our local businesses, but also positions Lenexa as a key destination during one of the world’s most celebrated sporting events. We look forward to welcoming visitors from around the world to our community as we celebrate the World Cup events in 2026.”
The group will work over the next two years to develop multiple events around the Lenexa area. Attendees will enjoy top-tier fan experiences, with events designed to reflect the excitement and prestige of the World Cup.
“We are incredibly excited for this opportunity to help lead the development of fan events in Lenexa. From the moment this concept was presented to us we knew AdventHealth had to be a part of it,” said Sissel Jacob, CEO and President of AdventHealth Lenexa City Center. “We look forward to creating memorable events for our hometown communities and friends from all over the world.”
