Corrigan II Selected for AIA KC Merit Award
Each year, AIA Kansas City and the Design Excellence Awards Committee see attention to design and have a focus on architecture. The jury for the Awards was a distinguished group of Architects from New York City who review the submissions, select winners, and discuss the wealth of great design coming from Kansas City. The projects are arranged by categories of Architecture, Interior Design, Concept Design, and Divine Detail. We’re pleased to announce that Corrigan II was selected for the Architecture Medium: Merit award at AIA Kansas City’s 2019 Design Excellence Awards.
Designed by Helix Architecture + Design, the project at 19th and Main in the Crossroads of Kansas City was completed in 2019. Corrigan II offers new office and retail space oand is adjacent to the KC Streetcar line giving easy access to Power & Light District, River Market, and Crown Center. The project includes first floor retail and covered parking with office space on the second and third floor. The third floor features seven individual office suites with a shared kitchenette, conference space and common areas. Both floors include open terraces with views toward downtown Kansas City and the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. It is the second phase of a larger mixed-use project that included the renovation of the historic Corrigan Station and parking garage. The final phases of the project was a courtyard addition known as the PARC. The PARC connects the new structure and the historic Corrigan Building featuring a fast-casual diner, Ravenous. Ravenous will feature daily lunch and dinner with cheeseburgers, chicken sandwiches, hand pies, local veggies, and will also serve their own bottled cocktails. Opening is planned for early next year.
Corrigan Station II was developed by Copaken Brooks and 3D Development. Eric Wyancko was the project lead on the development.
Corrigan Station recently won the Development of Distinction Award at the ULI DODA event in Kansas City.
