BIOGRAPHY

Jamie brings extensive expertise in all aspects of development projects to Copaken Brooks. His background in engineering, project management, and client engagement equips him with a comprehensive understanding of the project lifecycle, from conception to completion.

Jamie began his career at Westar Energy in the Plant Support Engineering group, and in 2016, he joined HME Inc. He held roles including Project Engineer for Field Operations, Project Manager for Steel Design and Fabrication, and Lead Project Manager for Field Operations, excelling in managing schedules, mitigating risks, and handling financials.

At Copaken Brooks, Jamie serves as the Owners Representative for the 100,000 square foot Kansas City Kansas Community Education, Health and Wellness project, a joint venture with Kansas City Kansas Community College, Swope Health, and CACU. He also manages the development of Smart Storage Lenexa, a 130,000 square foot, 700-unit climate-controlled self-storage facility set for completion later this year.

In his role with the Legacy Restaurant Group, Jamie has acted as the Owners Representative for both new developments and existing store renovations. In 2023, he completed one new store and two renovations, with one new store and four renovations currently in progress for 2024. He also serves as the Project Manager for the renovation of a 100,000 square foot office space for Husch Blackwell in Plaza Colonnade and manages the 15,000 square foot renovation project for United Way.

Jamie has channeled his mechanical engineering passion into significant achievements across various industries. His notable projects include the 1 million square foot Amazon Den8 warehouse in Denver, CO, and the 325,000 square foot Hill’s Pet Nutrition factory in Tonganoxie, KS. His precision and design expertise are evident in his work on the National Jewish Health Center for Outpatient Health in Denver, the Sleeping Giant School in Steamboat Springs, CO, and the Tactical Equipment Maintenance Facilities in Fort Carson, CO.
